Images & Presentation
How avatar, banner, title, and tagline shape the way a character is discovered.
These fields do not do all the heavy lifting, but they shape the first impression before anyone starts a chat.
Avatar
- Required for new characters.
- Uploading opens a crop step before the file is saved into the form.
- The current app expects at least
400 x 600pixels.
The avatar should make the character readable at a glance. If someone sees the card for one second, this image is part of what tells them whether to click.
Banner
- Optional.
- Also goes through the crop flow.
- The current app expects at least
1500 x 500pixels.
Use the banner for atmosphere, setting, or background flavor.
It is best treated as a secondary image:
- the avatar does most of the immediate recognition work
- the banner is more about mood than clarity
- some users will only notice it subtly depending on where they open the character
Do not put crucial readable information only in the banner art.
Title
- The title people see on the character card.
- Keep it readable at a glance.
- A clear title usually does more work than a clever but vague one.
Tagline
- The short public-facing pitch on the card.
- Tags can be typed directly into this field with
#. - Use it to tell people what kind of experience they are about to open.
What Good Presentation Looks Like
A strong card usually has:
- an avatar that is easy to read at small size
- a title that is specific
- a tagline that sets expectation quickly
If discovery feels weak, these are the first presentation fields to tighten.
