Quick Start
Get from your first visit to your first good conversation in a few minutes.
If you want the fastest way to understand anime.gf, start here. The goal is simple: find a character, open a chat, and get a feel for how the product works before you worry about anything advanced.
1. Sign In or Start Browsing
- You can browse the main product at
anime.gfright away. - If you open chat without a session, anime.gf will send you through sign-in first.
- If you already know you want to create characters later, signing in early makes Studio much smoother.
2. Find a Character You Actually Want to Talk To
The home page is built for discovery, so do not overthink your first search.
- Browse featured cards when you just want something good quickly.
- Search by text when you already know what kind of character you want.
- Use tags and ranking controls to narrow things down.
- Check a creator profile when you want more from the same person.
If one character already feels close to what you want, opening that creator's profile is usually faster than starting every search from scratch.
For more on discovery, jump to Explore Characters.
3. Start Your First Chat
Open a character page and hit Start Chat.
What happens next:
- anime.gf creates a chat from that character.
- Your recent chats start filling the sidebar.
- You can return to
/chatlater and resume from the sidepane. - If you make multiple chats with the same character, use Character Panel & History to find the character-specific
Historytab.
If you land on /chat with no active chat selected:
- On desktop, you will see the recent chat list first.
- On smaller screens, opening a chat collapses the sidepane so the conversation gets the screen.
4. Learn the Three Actions That Matter Most
The fastest way to feel comfortable with anime.gf is understanding these three actions:
- Send when you want to move the conversation forward with your own message.
- Continue when you want the character to keep going without adding a new user message.
- Regenerate when you want a different candidate for an existing reply.
anime.gf also supports editing, persona changes, suggestions, and other ways to steer the conversation. Those are covered in Chatting.
5. Set a Persona If You Want the Conversation to Feel More Personal
Personas are user-side profiles you can attach to chats.
- Create and edit them in Settings -> Persona.
- Set one as the default if you want it used more often.
- Switch personas for an existing chat from the chat sidepane footer.
If you want a clear mental model:
- A character is who you are talking to.
- A persona is how you show up in the conversation.
6. Leave Studio for When You Are Ready to Create
If you are here to chat, you can stop here. You already know enough to explore the app comfortably.
